The Emergency Medical Task Force (EM-TF) concept has recently become a reality in Texas.  The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) has sponsored the creation of the EM-TFs in Texas.   The four components are: Ambulance Strike Teams (5 per Region) [25 ambulances] Mobile Medical Unit Teams (1 per Region) Ambulance Bus Teams (2 per Region) RN Nurse Strike Teams (5 per Region) [25 RNs] Texas has worked collaboratively with the eleven (11) Public Health Regions and the twenty-two (22) Regional Advisory Councils to identify eight (8) EM-TF regions in Texas.
